Advantage flea control for a healthy pet

Flea allergy dermatitis, an allergic reaction to antigens from the saliva of the flea, affects 40 percent of all domestic animals, veterinary statistics reveal. Advantage flea control medication is a monthly treatment for dogs (7 weeks of age or older) and cats (8 weeks or more). This medicine medication provides comprehensive protection, not only fleas but the eggs and larvae as well. It also controls and prevents lice from dogs, but is not effective on ticks. Advantage flea control: How it works

The active ingredient in this medicine for pets is imidacloprid. This acts on the system of the fleas' nervous, causing paralysis and die later. The second active ingredient of the drug, pyriproxyfen, regulates the growth of insects. Once the eggs are laid by a female flea pet, pyriproxyfen restrict the hatching eggs, thus ending the life cycle of the flea.

Advantage flea control: How to use the product?

To apply the Advantage flea control, the applicator tip should be placed at the level of the skin of the pet. For best results in cats, apply the advantage over the nape of the neck. In dogs under 20 pounds, the product should be applied to the skin of the back between the shoulder blades. For dogs that weigh more, all content a tube should be applied at 3-4 points along the skin between the shoulder and tail.

Advantage flea control: How to store the product?

Advantage must be stored in a cool, dry place. Do not store this medication in the refrigerator. Empty containers must not be reused. Empty containers should be ideally wrapped in a cloth or bag before placing it in the trash. If the container is full, in part, it is advisable to contact a local solid waste agency to avoid contamination. As Advantage flea control can have adverse reactions in both animals and human beings keep away from pets and children.

Advantage flea control: Caution

The product should not come into contact with the pet's mouth or eyes. If you do, wash with soap and water. Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur over the use of the product. If signs persist or worsen, consult your veterinarian. Call Control Center immediately if the drug is ingested by your pet, or in case of an overdose. On the other hand, talk to your veterinarian if your pet is in another drug or are being treated with other pesticides. Use of lead in pregnant women, elderly, pets or debilitated elderly also should be confirmed by a veterinarian.
